The NYSC management has announced that there will be no “stream 2” for 2019 Batch A, it shall be called just “Batch A”. This means that those who have registered so far for 2019 Batch A may not all be conveying at the camp the same time.
When you want to print your call up letter on your dashboard and you’re told that “You shall be notified when to print your call up letter” it means you will likely be going with Batch B.
But if you successfully print, congratulations to you. You may begin to wonder when is the best day to arrive camp.
The NYSC 2019 Batch A Orientation camp will start on the 27th March 2019 and will take 21 days to complete.
It is good to go to camp a day before the exact date because the best day to resume camp is the exact day that camp will begin. There’s a 99% chance that you’ll be allowed to sleep inside the camp if you reach there a day before the opening day. The camp is always open at least 2 days before the exact date and soldiers will all be around to make sure your physical security is assured. But due to the long distance travel, where to sleep for the night and some other factors involved, you can still travel on the camp opening day so you can reach there same day and join the others.
Coming early and finishing your registration on time will save you a lot of stress and also get you a good hostel in most cases.
3 days after the camp begins officially, you will not be allowed to enter the NYSC camp again except in some extreme cases. So, be sure to come early and settle in on time to avoid issues.
Camp is always interesting and you’ll enjoy every bit of it. Ensure that you participate in the various activities especially the competitions as the officials are watching and taking notes. And it will give you an avenue to play, have fun, meet new people and get to learn new things.
Embrace the skill acquisition training too as it will help you at some point.
Yes, the drills can be exhausting but towards the end of the camp you’ll appreciate it more and wish you never missed any.
The mammy market is there for you but go there wisely. Well, unless you have loads of cash stashed somewhere, don’t use all your alawee to buy stuffs you’ll not even know why you bought in the first place.
Anytime you did not use your meal ticket, give it to someone else who needs it because the kitchen food is not enough for some.
Remember, make friends as you go because most times the people who help you at the end or connect you with genuine help would likely come from your clique of friends.
